First time I've seen a film by Algerian/French director Tony Gatlif and was very pleasantly surpised by this tale set in Romania about a young French musicologist who goes to Romania in search of a singer he's heard and stumbles on a Tsigane community.
Much more life-like than Kusturica with some wonderful characters, flows like a spicy romany song, colorful, heart-warming and well recommended.
