What do these three films have in common? Frank Darabont, one heck
of a director/writer! Saw "Green Mile" recently on video and
was very impressed; only watched "Shawshank Redemption" about 2/3's
of the way through on video some years ago because I was at a friend's
house and had to abruptly leave, a good film but tainted (at least for
me because of Tim Robbins in the lead role), did have the satisfaction
of reading the King novella, however. A shame that Frank couldn't
do the "Forbidden Planet" remake, as it was put on the backburner
by New Line Cinema recently as being too expensive. I was ambivalent
about that venture, especially after what NLC did with "Lost In
Space". - AH
