And given the cultural differences, only those films dealing with common human emotions translate well - taken from that perspective Viy was doomed from the start, I wonder why they even bothered releasing it here. Unless you have good feel for the Russian culture and Gogol's work it is bound to irritate you.I will probably add it to my Netflix queue.
