I used to think Mamet was more effective on the stage, especially with his rep group who could really get the rhythm of his lines singing and dancing in live performance.But Mamet has done OK as a director. Games is my favorite, followed by the Winslow Boy and Homicide.
He's a pretty damned good script doctor too.
