Gosh, nobody can touch comedic scoundrelizing like the incredible Billy Bob. I mean he was made to play these parts and so he does, often.
BB runs a "secret" course on how to be a man which is populated by the biggest load of losers since Cuckoo's Nest. John Heder (Napolean Dynamite) is a reluctant student who begins to to learn his lessons well. So well, that BB starts hitting on Heder's dream girl which leads to hilarious confrontations. What appears as harsh growth lessons become serious battles between Heder and BB with no holds barred.
This movie has a lot of laughs and MC Duncan contributes well to the effort. The cast of characters are well picked and cover the spectrum of "loserness" you might find in a large city--this being NYC.
If you like sophomoric hi-jinx this is a movie for you. Bergman it ain't.
