Butterfly Effect--Creeped Me Out!

I watched the director's cut with the "sad ending." (Does the theater version have a happy ending?)
Horror movies usually don't creep me out, even the Japanese ones, beyond the time while watching the movie, but for some reason this movie had a chilling effect on me for a while afterwards.
I wasn't expecting to be as entertained and engaged by an Ashton Kutcher movie, so the question is, should I seek out Butterfly Effect 2?
