I chanced across the NYT's film critic Dave Kehr's appreciation yesterday, quite by chance.
"Mr. Erice has completed only two feature films in the 33 years since TSofB, and at least one (Dream of Light, 1992) is another classic."
It's only a few weeks, but seriously I doubt that time will gild the outrageously overracted, ridiculously protracted, and cynical The Departed.
I seem to remember such nonsensical rubbish (do these Hollywood moguls employ the same media firms as the White House or is it vice-versa?) being written about The Three Burials of Blah Blah Blah a few all too short months ago.
Anyhow, the artistic difference between the two films in question is like that between a master-chef created table of tapas and a greasy frozen pizza.
