just picked this up on laser disc, a 1959 film, it's really *very* charmingSoundtrack by Charles Mingus, tho' it's mostly background music
While searching on the Net about this film, it seems there is more than one version, and Cassavetes *may* have lost the original reels by leaving these in the New York subway; and subsequently had to reshoot the film as the laser disc version I've just watchedAs the 1st US independent filmmaker ( if you don't count DW Griffiths! ) finding these reels must have been like finding the Reel-to-Reel tape of Are You Experienced Jimi Hendrix left in the back seat of a NY cab; or unearthing a Picasso, one of those "truth stranger than fiction" stories....
