It's a tie: Van Helsing vs Event Horizon

I got roped into going to these with friends...why, oh why? I know better.

Van Helsing was even worse than I thought it would be and I was expecting it to be awful. The director/screenwriter had the attention span of a gnat (and the movie was paced accordingly) surpassed only by his gift for silliness. The costumes were embarassing. The plotting was hilariously bad, even for an FX flick. Alas, this was not one of the movies so bad it's good - it was so bad it was exhausting.

I went along to Event Horizon because it had Sam Neill in it (whom I adore) and I like sci-fi, even tacky sci-fi (e.g. The Hidden). I knew from the set up it was gonna be a horror movie in outer space (not a deterrent in itself, e.g. Alien). But the last 1/3 was just a gory, repellent mess. I was with people but I walked out.
