Harsh Times: Waay too harsh

Okay, Bale comes back from Iraq and he has bad dreams, er, nightmares. But that's just a flesh wound because he's really out of his freaking mind. He's psycho, homicidal, barely controlled, and actually has a couple of people fooled.

His big ambition in life is to be an LA cop. You know, dirty LA cop. But that doesn't work for him. They figure he's crazy. But, not too crazy for Homeland Security which is really doing DEA duty in Columbia.

Well, we have Bale and his bro' Freddy Rodriguez hanging out, getting high, doing some rip offs, and generally screwing up---much to Freddy's main squeeze chagrin (Eva Longoria) who alternately throws Freddy out or threatens to leave because of Bale induced antics.

Bale finds ways to cheat on his tests and get accepted which only means road trip to his future wife's place in Mexico where he begins to come totally unglued in the cranium. Bad things happen.

This is one of those films where the main character is so totally reprehensible and without redemption you wish somebody would put a bullet in his head after the first fifteen minutes. It's hard to watch this Energizer Bunny of Doom for the length of the film and I surely wouldn't do it a second time.
