The current DVD was released in 2005, ten years after the film, and it contains a number of extras about how it was cast and realized over time. Even though fashion and slang wise it is dated, it has lost none of its charm and outright humor. A ruly wonderful cast of (then) young actors contribute enormously to its success. Like "American Grafitti" before it, this will last over time.
