Flushed Away- the latest Aardman Animation

This is a partnership with Disney (at least I think its Disney but couldn't be bothered checking, which means that its not Creature Comforts or even the last Wallace And Grommitt.
The claymation is just a CGI effect and everything has that CGI sheen.
But the budgets are bigger and there hasn't been much dumbing down although they have opened up to a bigger younger audience. Its school holidays here and I waited for 3 weeks and then went to a 10.00AM screening ans the cinema was half full which seems pretty good on a sunny day.
The humour is pretty British (interestingly the story and script originated from Clement and La Frenais who seem to have found a Hollywood niche for themselves in true family films vis GOAL! released for the World Cup last year) and as it starts with our hero being flushed down a toilet (he's a rat by the way) you can guess where the humour is... pitched!
One joke as an illustration: An albino steroid abused ex lab-rat, when asked about the effects of last night's curry (very British) replies "My bottom looks like the flag of Japan".
The male lead is voiced by Hugh Jackman, the female by Kate Winslett as a boat skipper with a very comely... tail.
Its only 85 minutes and it sails by very quickly. It seems quite dialogue dense to me and there are some very good national (mainly British and French) stereotypes... small spoiler... told they are to leave immediately, a gang of French ...frogs... complain its time for lunch, to which their leader replies "Awwwright, we leave in 5 hours!".
The kids were laughing out loud at the jokes and the adults were more than chuckling.
Its very funny and the budget is used well to make the film look like small characters in a HUGE space rather than just people sized rats and frogs.
See it at the cinema or next time you have the big family get together or a kids party, hire this, put it on the BIG HT set up and whoever gets the child watching duty certainly won't have drawn the short straw.
Very recommended.
