he won the Nobel Prize for Literature ; I think the only film I've seen adapted from his works was "Jakob the Liar" which was disappointing. There is the German silent film "The Golem", but I don't think its adapted from Singer's "Golem", similar theme
A Jewish writer, Singer left Poland for the USA before the Holocaust and started writing in Yiddish; many of his works are considered classics "The Certificate" etc.
While I'm not Jewish; this fascinates me as it's a glimpse at a world that became totally lostGrins
