Blanchett's character, an art teacher in a school sleeps with a fifteen year old student and Denchs sees them and holds it over Blanchett's head until the whole things explodes for our viewing pleasure...almost a comedy - Cate's character was a gullible free spirit and Judi Dench was an authority figure who was pretty creepy but neither in a heavy handed way. I liked Dench's narration, there were some witty comments. Overall an enjoyable movie
