and unbelievably convoluted storytelling but it is such an over-the-top melodramatic style that it somehow works.
Pedro creates an insane world, yes, but his characters remain true to its equally bizarre rules.
This film is Penelope Cruz's vehicle and she proves she has no superior working today. If there were any justice, she easily would win the Best Actress Oscar.
Not Almodovar's best, it is a bit loose at times, but more than worth your time and, as I mention, Cruz is a revelation.
