Anyone wishes to say anything on Clair Denis' Intruder?

Claire Denis can do no wrong in my book. OK, so I forgive her for Trouble Every Day - who is without a fault? Her other films have always occupied prime spot in my memory.

I wanted to see the Intruder ever since it came out, but somehow have not had chance. Till last night - it finally made its way through the long Netflix queue. And I think it was worth the wait.

I will spare you the plot - you can easily read about it. The long 130 minute film has a lot to offer in several areas, of which some of the most gorgeous shots is just one. More than once both my wife and I screamed "Did you see this? Incredible!" There is cinematography to die for, the brooding atmosphere the director is so capable of, characters with real, palpable depth, and story hooks to get you well, hooked.

It is a long journey, and the meaning of certain things along the way will definitely escape you, setting the tone and expectation for repeated viewing, but it is a journey you will not be likely to forget.

Every Claire Denis's film is an event, and even though this one does not, in my view, raise to the brutal punch in the face, kick in the butt, grab by the balls overt "charm" and power of her "Beuau Travail", this is still a must see movie from one of the most interesting directors living today.
