HMV have got a DVD sale on and I picked this up for £3. It is one of those well regarded films that I have been thinking of buying for many years.I don't intend to do a blow by blow analysis. It is the story of a young pool player who gets his money by kidding average Joes into betting their money, and then taking them to the cleaners. He gets his chance to play one of the big boys, and having taken him for lots loses it back .... and this is just the beginning.
I found this a massively powerful piece of cinema. Although the story revolves around pool it is, at heart, the story of damaged people.
