Claire Denis' look at the modern day cannibalistic urges. She changes Paris from the city of light to city of bites in the slowly paced, somewhat mysterious tale of the acquired taste for flesh. The exotic Beatrice Dalle has the urge and acts on it whenever possible. Vincent Gallo (ugly enough to be French) has the urge yet has not acted. He and his lovely bride honeymoon in Paris so he can find his former flame Dalle and her husband a doctor who is working on a cure.
We are "treated" to some rather disturbing eroticisms with the final being of Gallo and an attractive hotel maid which proved almost titillating, horrifying, and disgusting simultaneously.
Unusual work and, as usual, Denis "womans view" is prevalent.
