rather understated, by his usual standards, Kinski performance. It's an extremely undervalued effort.
Regarding "S," the taller, red-haired tough guy in "real life," was a famous German boxer who once went toe-to-toe with (if memory serves) Ali and took a real beating, though he boxed very well. He gave up an enormous amount of weight.
