This is a somewhat successful Indian look at the intertwined elements of criminals and police in Mumbai, based around a shootout that left a number of dead in a residential area.
The film takes the form of an inquiry and each report sets off an episode in flashback.
It is set to an unbelievably loud soundtrack of mainly modern Asian dance but intercut with occasional screeching guitar.
It is let down by some dreadful (truly dreadful) subtitles, even on the lines spoken in English...
At times it's almost Good Fellas.
It has Hong Kong ultra violence and a lot of blood.
It's a curious mix, as I say, not completely successful, but it contains a very good sting in the tail about who runs whom in Mumbai.
While I can't call this a great film, it was at least an interesting look at how Indian cinema is absorbing influence.
Based on true rumours it says.
And it appears to be so... here is the IMDB site

and, with a spoiler warning, the wiki for it
