"Love Me If You Dare": Amelie meets King Kong

This Frenchy film was supposedly popular for quite a while after its release. It has all the sweet elements of Amelie mixed with an increasing brutality of events between two star-crossed people who could not realize their intended love until nearly a bitter end.

Their story starts at an early age as they begin a child's game of dare that grows from silly, misbehaved innoncence to near fatal acts in adulthood. The story manages to keep its romantic elements alive despite the growing cruelty of their games as they grow older.

"Dare" is entertaining and intriguing by design. Only in film would two people pursue each other over years missing the entire point of their obsessive involvement.

Not a must see but a nice whirl if you're in the mood for subtitles.
