This is an exceptional film, just getting pre-release screenings here and I wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone.
A mismatched group of boat people are dropped on the desolate west coast of Australia and immediately begin to disagree on what to do when they discover the sand dunes obscure their view of nothing but more sand and basically start on a long trek to the city they continually think is over the next sand dune or hill.
The feeling of the vast emptiness of Australia is well done as is the essential Aussieness of the locals. Curiously this is a very funny film as well as a beautifully observed film about humanity.
I believe the official release is next month here in Oz.
