When the opening credits noted: Based on a short story by Stephen King, my heart and hopes fell. Like all King-based movies it started out with promise but halfway through all the identifiable "King of Cheese" hallmarks started reeking through the screen.
I like John Cusack but he was without merit and most likely wanted to score a paycheck. Sammy Jackson kind of hammed his way through but got lost in the dreck of the script. It did have a rather clever twist but I assure you that in itself in no way merits a ticket purchase.
It's my own fault for not paying attention from whence the story came.
I give it three chunks of moldy cheese.
