I had forgotten how clever and outright funny this early Dreamworks CGI effort is when I ran across it in my collection (an anamorphic wide screen DVD). Woody Allen "stars" as "Z", a worker ant who wants to be an individual rather than a "colony player". The cast is remarkable (I'vepasted the list in below) and it's hard to believe that all the voices were recorded separately and then edited together for various converstions. I looked for mono/dialogue writing credit for Woody as some of the lines are so his that it's hard to believe he didn't at least have a hand there but neither the film's credit scroll not IMDB lists him as anything other than a voice actor. Gene Hackman is particularly well cast but when I think anout it everyone else is , too. A delightful romp and fun for all ages.
Next for me is "A Bug's Life"

- Allen's prologue alone is worth the time. Stallone and Hackman do splendid work, too. nt - tinear 12:31:54 07/20/07 (1)
