Help with Brazil?!

I need help deciding which Brazil to buy of the three versions.
Obviously, the 96 minute version is out. I THINK that is the TV version that was "sweetened up" and is only on the Criterion DVD as a bonus.
There is the 131 min. version that is out on VHS and DVD.
There is the 142 min. version that is out on LD and Criterion DVD (at $50).
The 131 min version is readily available and reasonably priced. What scenes were cut? Was the ending the correct dark one? Is the extra 11 minutes worth $30??
Anybody know?
