Jean-Luc Godard. After the death of Bergman this unofficial title passes to him. At work since the late 50's, Godard has moved western cinema in so many creative ways. Problem is his films are difficult and seemingly impenetrable to many Americans. Godard films demands viewing by those who have a well developed sense of cinema.
