In this gritty post Civil War western, former rancher Liam Neeson tracks intrepid Pierce Brosnan thorough the wilderness with a hired posse. Brosnan's survival skills are impressive, and there's a couple of fire building scenes that put the Jack London story in its place. Only about 2/3 of the way through do we learn the reason for the relentless slow moving chase, which moves from the snowy mountains through forests and, eventually, to a desert setting not unlike the ending of "Greed". This one held my interest all the way through and I completely forgot that the two principles are Irish born. Brosnan easily sheds his Bond image and Neeson has never been more unrecognizable. A really good movie.
