The latest offering from the Coen brothers. In small Texas town, a welder Josh Brolin stumbles upon a drug deal gone bad and takes off with the drug money. Do ya think someone might come a lookin' for the cash?
One character is a little over the top (or a lot, depending on your perspective), but IMO this is one of the best movies of the year. The characters are well drawn, the dialogue is sparkling and punctuated by dark humor.
Though set in Texas, the landscape shots during the first of the movie are from New Mexico (end credits mention both Texas and NM) . . . just beautiful.
Tommy Lee (not the drummer!) may deserve an oscar nomination for best supporting actor.
For me, the Coen brothers have a portfolio of excellent movies. They are at the top of their game again.
