I often couldn't even tell from the trailers whether I'd like some movies it turned out I loved.
Trailers are put together by special marketing teams to hit the hot buttons of a certain target market to entice them into theaters, and if they think young male action fans are that target, don't expect much moral grandeur in the ads. You'll see the flashiest bits. They got 30 seconds to sell the sizzle.
In fact, the movie takes an ironic and moral position on both Denzel and Russell's characters, and there are no free passes to either of them.
