It didn't take me four viewings to appreciate it, but I'm glad your perseverance has paid off.

I've heard that it was radically cut down from an immense amount of footage. Reputedly, Adrien Brody's character had a larger role.

But I don't think we will ever see all this extra footage, unfortunate or not. The theatrical version stands on its own.

I enjoyed Hans Zimmers' soundtrack so much that I purchased it as well. It is HDCD, for the audiophile inclined.
