I just snagged a LD of Taylor & Burton in "Taming the Shrew". This was an all too short of a movie IMHO. It seemed to be an abridged brilliant depiction of Shakespeare. I loved this flick, but I was truly left wanting much more.
I also watched Fonda & Hepburn in "War & Peace". This was like a more mellow dramatic directing of "Gone with the Wind", only with superior acting. It seemed as though the actors wanted to breath life into this doomed escapade but the confines of Hollywood's story board prohibited it. I wonder if the conceptual stage was rushed.....just my 2¢
