Hi Steve,
Did you like Madadayo? Kinda sappy in parts, but I eat that stuff up (^-^) one of my favorite flicks. Did you ever get a chance to see the Samurai X (Rurouni Kenshin) OVA's? Found a new one I like a lot... Kwaiden.... If you haven't seen it, it's a live-action film with 4 separate spook stories based on Japanese legends. A bit artsy in a couple of places but also quite beautiful. Couple of spots had me crying (Yuki the snow maiden and the one about the Genji Heike battle). I picked up a disk of Cushingura... nice redition of the 47 Rounin story, but I must have got a bad disk because my Pioneer DV-37 just will not play the second half of it..... grumble grumble grumble.Ha ha, I need new bifocals... I have to sit on the floor in front of the tv to read all the subtitles.
