***The Philly fest looks real fun, I envy you.

Well, we are doing our best, full time jobs, etc... One of the best parts is the small crowds you typically see there - except for some films.

***Yes, Charlotte still cuts it.

True, and real shame she has been so dormant lately, for she can act. And she knows how to age gracefully. So far Under the Sand is the best among the ones we have seen.

But if any film ever needed that idiotic "John married Mary and now has law practice in Nebraska" at the end (for the benefit of the typical American audience brought up on the made-for-TV, based-on-true-story "drama") then this is it.

A film with NO answers? Too much man, too much...

Last night it was "A Matter of Taste" (or a "Question of Taste" in other translation), and we didn't care much for it. Perhaps you saw it, since it is a 2000 film. Good lead actors, to be sure, but the rest just too shallow to enjoy.

Jean-Pierre Lorit we remember by his small but well done role in "Nelly and Mr. Arnaud", and Bernard Giraudeau - how could anyone forget him in "Passion of Love" - what a strange but good movie.

And we are really looking forward to seeing the "Aberdeen" (also with Charlotte) on Friday. Its stock is climbing, with the shows sold out, and the organizers moving it to the largest room they have access to.

Have you seen it?
