actually isn't very noir: the bad guys are... bad and good are good.
No femme fatales, either.
But it does tell a pretty good story of how a dogged police investigation brought down organized crime's most terrifying business, murder for hire or Murder, Inc., as it was known.
The film holds one's attention but it has several very unbelievable incidents which are the kiss of death to a purportedly factual account.
Not a particularly memorable Bogart film. He does his winced teeth grimace one too many times...
