If you enjoyed Guillermo del Toro's 'The Devil's Backbone' and 'Pan's Labyrinth', you'll like this continuing theme of modern Spanish fantasy/fairy-tale movies with 'The Orfanato' (The Orphanage) by young spanish director, Juan Antonio Bayona.
Very atmospheric with a great lead performance by Belen Rueda as the mother whose young child disappears in the former orphanage where she grew up.
Doesn't quite grab you in the way del Toro's two films do but I like this new school which blends 'horror' with fairy-tale-like plots.
The film had a phenomenal success in Spain but may be on limited release in the US.
