I was an extra in the original way back when. They came by our high school looking for teenagers to make up a crowd in the bar scene. Paid us somewhat decently IIRC (was kinda cool getting a check from Paramount Pictures). Then another film company (or maybe the same) came by looking for extras for some Rocky film. They weren't paying anything though, so no thanks on that one.
