Sure, it takes bravery but... I don't know. Seems a bit pointless?

Fun, daring, but.... worthy of this kind of idolatry? Worth several hours of your time to watch a guy plan and walk a wire between a couple of buildings?
Base jumpers do similar stuff everyday as do ice climbers.
If they die during these exercises, where's the pathos?
