I saw this at a second-run theater this weekend. I knew the book on which it is based is famous, but didn't know the story.
This is a well acted movie. It begins as a version of Brokeback Mountain set in the 1930s, but without saying more, the plot takes a 180-degree turn in the middle.
All in all, I recommend.
