Home Films/DVD Asylum

Movies from comedy to drama to your favorite Hollyweird Star.

I didn´t know about this one, but to...

..."Buddy Buddy", the one Billy Wilder did in 1981.

As you´ll see, he even had Francis Veber writing the script..., but that film was lacking any grace, not to mention the freshness of the original: Jacques Brel sobbing, wiping the windshield with that sticky, blandy little creature hanging from the rear mirror, and then his nose (or was it the other way round? - I saw it more than thirty years ago...-) was simply moving, beyond the incredible comicality of it; while Jack Lemmon was simply irritating from the start: not even Walter Matthau could save that film!

"No la toqueis más, que así es la rosa" (Touch it no more, for that´s how a rose is) said Juan Ramon Jimenez..., and wise words those were.

Regards

BF
