If you've ever wondered how James Dean might have looked as a vampire, not to mention how he probably would've played the role, this movie is a must see.
The characters are believable and while the pacing is a little slow it helps to build character interest and deepen the curiosity about individual characters, their families and the history of vampirism and native American culture in the region. Twilight also sets itself apart from reliance on many of the 'laws' governing the genre by doing away with some stereotypes while introducing new twists and complications.
This film isn't perfect by any means, but it is fun and not a waste of time or money, IMHO. There is obviously a series intended (based upon the book series) and due to the huge opening week success, I suspect more revelations about the characters histories, adversarial intrigue, evolution and survival among human-kind will be forthcoming in future films. Oh, Twilight is also recommended to those who are fans of baseball films (no spoilers)! ;O)
