a Net search reveals she also directed "Boxing Helena" which I consider to be one of the worst films ever made... However;Surveillance is way more accessible a film than anything her Dad has done lately; it's really well acted + is more like the Coens "Fargo" than "Blue Velvet"
The film starts out so low key that you begin to wonder if anything is going to happen + but the plot kicks in with a vengeance with one pivotal scene ( no spoilers, just watch it! )
Sick, twisted, creepy + delicious; wouldn't work without the quality of actors, who are all superb ( oh, I already said that ) particularly
Julia Ormond + Bill PullmanWhile she's no Sofia Coppola, I'll look forward to J. Lynchs next film, which is more than I can say for her Dad after having suffered through Inland Empire...
Not for kids
