I just returned from the first-ever Jewish horror film!
"The Unborn" has been adapted to Chicago and links a murderous dybbuk from Auschwitz Granny to grand daughter (complete with Hand of Miriam medallion).
What? Gary Oldman as the GOOD Rabbi! Yep, complete with yarmulke, Jewish exorcism rites, ram's horn, and Kabala text read in Hebrew!
I didn't know whether to run through the lobby screaming in fluent German: "I vant my money back" or to schlep through it.
Is this not a sign: End near slow down?
Unfortunately, I have to give this 2 out of five for lack of direction and cinematography. Somebody was a little cheap with the camera guy.
I will give it 4 out of 5 for Chutzpah in redoing the Exorcist in Yiddish.
Should you wait for the DVD? No, rush, eternity will be soon enough.
