Going back again to watch this movie again only increases my admiration for it. Many, many moviemakers long to give us a sense of their "style". But at this meal, we are being treated to a heaping helping of the director's (heartwarming) "sensibility". The fact is that these same spirits would have seemed completely cartoonish and corny in most productions. The overriding flavors are those of earnestness, goodwill, and brotherly warmth. What cornball stuff. What a complete success.
