Another fine, exceedingly creepy film from the Low Countries â€“ never liked the American re-make. Such a happy people, the Dutch, but with such a wonderful sense of gallows humor. ... Of course, The Vanishing is actually achingly sad, but the wit that runs through it is wonderful.

Seen anything by Alex van Warmerdam? If you can find it, Kleine Teun (Little Tony) is pretty amusing; nicely filmed, too.
