don't be scared away by the music!
This story really isn't about the music at all but about aging guys--- the two original and founding members--- that have performed menial jobs their entire lives as a way of keeping the flame of hope for fame alive.
After years of being forgotten, and only performing at local, very small gigs, the band is contacted by a European fan who has arranged a multi-nation tour. What happens is hilarious, sobering, and the center of one of the year's best films.
I resisted this film because I'm most decidedly NOT a heavy metal fan and regret waiting so long finally to go.
You needn't bring a Bic lighter, wear a mullet, or dress in black leather pants to love this film.
