for either television or foreign films or commercials (in the space of 30 min. you see/hear Jeff Bridges, Spacey, Ed Harris, Gene Hackman, Aaron Echkart)Remember when an up and comer got a lot of buzz and then you'd watch their career build? Or the older actors gracefully slid into scene-stealing supporting roles? Not anymore.
What happened to Ryan Gosling, Ed Norton, McConnaughey(sp?), etc. And these are the relatively new guys who when they started showed massive talent: Gosling broke out too late and is stalled. Norton opts for diversifying and indie work w/ the occasional big paycheck (very suprised he was cast for Hulk to be honest), and McConnaughey gave in and is cashing in on his looks and chick flicks. The only reason I think Damon survived is because of the Baldwin quote below.
Ford is very good at what he does. He knows his limitations. But it's not about craft anymore.
Alec Baldwin summed it up best on Inside the Actor's Studio: It's not about how well you act now, it's how fit you are.
And he's dead right.
