from the Korean first-time (!) director.
This film takes comedy, horror, mystery, sci-fi, and a love story, mixes them in an artillery shell, and fires it at the viewer.
A perhaps hallucinating madman and his tight-rope walking girlfriend take hostage a top executive from a chemical company, believing the man (whom they also think is responsible for the death of the kidnapper's mother and girlfriend) is an alien bent on destroying earth's inhabitants.
Hot on the trail of this lunatic is a top detective who notably has relied on hunches and another young "hot shot" who doggedly pursues details. Part of this very complex film involves the detectives' race to solve the identity of the kidnappers before the victim is murdered--- there is no ransom demand.
If you enjoyed "Repo Man," or "Silence of the Lambs," this film will amaze you.
To those unfamiliar with Korean cinema: take note! Over the past 10 years, it may be the country producing the greatest number of fine films in many genres!
