This small and heartwarming film is about an old farmer (Hogan, looking oooooooooooold) whose wife dies and whose son (Shane Jacobson)decides to take him on a trip they had promised decades before.
It was shot as a real drive from the south to the north of Australia, the sort of equivalent to Americans driving to California I suppose.
Apart from a couple of interiors it was all shot in real places with real people in bars and cafes.
The film starts out feeling slight but soon, and repeatedly, sucker punches you with genuine insight into these characters and the nature of families.
I wholeheartedly recommend this film especially for anyone thinking of coming to visit us down under.
