This largely autobiographic film is about a Palestinian woman from The Left Bank who goes to America with her son to start a new (and better) life and who finds that in the wake of 9/11 racism is open and naked in middle America.
How does she fare?
That is for viewers to find out, but this warm and human film is not one sided rhetoric.
The effects of fear, hate and frustration are written deeply on to all the characters.
It's moving and involving and an honest film about ordinary people. Nothing glamourous here.
Very worth seeing.
