a very well made though very predictable effort. Many fine actors though it was a very bloodless affair; even the most difficult experiences, the greatest of disappointments were met with tepidity. It isn't fair to compare this film to one which is a classic, the implication being that anything less---- which almost all films must be--- condemns it, but because of the great similarity, I must: "The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie" has passion, brilliant casting (Maggie Smith won many top awards), and several surprises along the dazzling route.
"Education" is craft, not art, but it is well-done craft.
